Public Institutions Energy Transition Program (TEEP) – Tabarka Regional Hospital

📍 As part of the follow-up on the implementation progress of the Public Sector Energy Transition Program, Mr. Fethi Hanchi, Director General of the National Agency for Energy Conservation, carried out a field visit to Tabarka Regional Hospital on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. He was accompanied by Mr. Nafaa Baccari, Project Manager, and a team of technical staff from the agency. The visit was attended by the hospital’s director and staff, the regional director of STEG in Tabarka, and representatives of the company in charge of project implementation.

⚡ The photovoltaic plant installed on the hospital’s rooftop has a capacity of 126 kW and is expected to reduce the hospital’s annual electricity consumption by around 52%.

☀ This plant is one of 70 installations developed for healthcare institutions under the Ministry of Health, across 21 governorates, with a total capacity of approximately 14.4 MW.

💡 In addition to the solar power station, the hospital will benefit from further energy efficiency measures in air conditioning and lighting, as well as the installation of real-time consumption monitoring systems.

🌱 The TEEP project is one of the flagship energy transition programs in the public sector, covering 373 public institutions under various ministries and agencies, with a total capacity of 39 MW and an overall cost estimated at 200 million dinars.
