Mr. Fethi Hanchi, Director General of the National Agency for Energy Management (ANME) ⚡, participated in the Tunisian-Austrian Forum on Renewable Energy 🔋, held on Monday, June 2 in Vienna – Austria 🇦🇹. The event was organized by the Tunisian Embassy 🇹🇳 in collaboration with the Austrian-Arab Chamber of Commerce 🏢, on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the establishment of consular and diplomatic relations between Tunisia and Austria.
✅ The Tunisian delegation 🇹🇳 included the CEO of STEG ⚡, the President of CONECT, several Tunisian companies active in the renewable energy sector 🌞, the Investment Promotion Agency, the ONTT representative in Vienna, and a representative from Tunisair.
👥 On the Austrian side, participants included the Director General for Europe and Economic Affairs at the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs 🇪🇺, the President of the Austrian-Arab Chamber of Commerce, the Vice President of the Austrian Economic Chamber, the Deputy Director of UNIDO, and a number of Austrian companies interested in partnerships with their Tunisian counterparts in the renewable energy field ♻️.
💡 The forum provided an opportunity to highlight Tunisia’s pioneering experience in the energy transition 🔄. Mr. Hanchi presented a comprehensive overview 🎤 of national efforts aimed at achieving a sustainable energy shift 🌱, emphasizing the importance of staying up to date with global technological developments in the field.
🚀 He also discussed entrepreneurship in the renewable energy sector in both countries, as well as partnership opportunities between Tunisian and Austrian companies 🤝, stressing the value of Tunisian expertise 👨🎓 and the high quality of academic and technical training 🎓.
🌐 Mr. Hanchi further emphasized ANME’s role in building effective partnerships with counterparts in Africa and Europe 🌍, and enhancing cooperation with public and private sector stakeholders 🏢 to develop joint projects and share expertise 🔄.
📝 During the forum, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between CONECT and the Austrian-Arab Chamber of Commerce to further strengthen cooperation 💼 and foster partnerships between Tunisian and Austrian enterprises 🇹🇳🤝🇦🇹.
📅 The forum concluded with a proposal to host the next edition in Tunisia at the end of the year 🗓️.
