A training session on energy efficiency in the fisheries sector was held on Monday and Tuesday, April 13 and 14, 2026, for the benefit of fishermen and various stakeholders in the Gulf of Gabès.
The session was delivered by experts from the National Agency for Energy Conservation, in collaboration with the Global Environment Facility and the local fisheries development groups of Ghannouch and Ajim.
This training aims to support the transition towards more sustainable fisheries through the adoption of renewable energy solutions and to encourage stakeholders in the sector to engage in the national energy transition effort.
This session is part of the project for the decarbonization of small-scale fisheries in Tunisia, implemented by the World Wide Fund for Nature in North Africa, in partnership with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
