The National Agency for Energy Conservation organized the Third National Workshop on Wednesday, 21 July 2026, in Tunis, as part of the preparation of Tunisia’s National Strategy for the Development of Electric Mobility. The workshop brought together representatives from various ministries, public institutions, partner organizations, and key stakeholders in the field of electric mobility.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Nafaâ Baccari, Director General of the National Agency for Energy Conservation, emphasized that the development of this strategy represents a key milestone towards establishing a sustainable and low-emission mobility system, thereby contributing to the achievement of Tunisia’s energy transition objectives.
In the same context, Mr. Abdelhamid Gannouni, Director of Energy Efficiency in the Transport and Agriculture Sectors at the Agency, highlighted that the strategy is expected to generate significant economic, social, and environmental benefits by encouraging investment, creating new employment opportunities, improving the quality of transport services, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and strengthening the country's energy security and energy independence.
During the workshop, participants reviewed the final outcomes of the study prepared for the development of the national strategy, as well as the proposed action plan for its implementation. Discussions focused on identifying priorities, defining practical implementation measures, and strengthening coordination mechanisms among the various stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of the strategy.
