Overview of Key National Initiatives in Carbon Removal

👉 As part of efforts to strengthen coordination and integration between various national carbon removal programs, and to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and best practices among stakeholders, Mr. Fethi Hanchi, Director General of the National Agency for Energy Conservation (ANME), presided on Thursday, May 15, 2025, over the opening of a workshop organized in collaboration with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ), dedicated to showcasing the most significant national initiatives in this field. 🤝🌍

📊 The workshop brought together representatives from several national institutions, along with experts from GIZ. It served as a platform to present a set of innovative tools and mechanisms, including:

📄 The new specification guide governing the practice of carbon accounting within Tunisian institutions, aimed at unifying methodologies and enhancing transparency and credibility in emissions calculation.

💻 The digital platform DECARBOACT – a flexible and practical tool to help companies calculate and track their carbon footprint regularly and methodically.

📘 The Carbon Removal Guide – a practical reference designed to support companies, especially exporters, in developing and implementing emission reduction plans, and improving readiness for international market requirements.
